Sound & Mantra Therapy
What is sound & mantra therapy?
Sound therapy is one of the world’s oldest healing modalities. We are made up of energy vibrations and our energies are focused around the seven chakras. When we are healthy, our chakras are spinning and our aura expands outwards into our physical environment. Sometimes our chakras become blocked and they do not vibrate as harmoniously as they should, causing us to experience physical and emotional health issues. The analogy that sound therapists use is that human energies are like musical instruments which need re-tuning from time to time.
Mantras are sacred words of power chanted in Sanskrit, serving as mind liberation devices. Through chanting mantras with intention, we can manifest positive physical and mental changes in our lives. When combined with sacred sound instruments, the effects become even more powerful.
Sound & mantra therapy stimulates the body’s natural production of nitric oxide which helps to boost our immune system, similar to when we exercise. Our chakras are stimulated by sound to allow us to open up to the therapeutic healing process. Sound not only resonates through us, but it also helps us to vibrate at a higher, and healthier, frequency.
What issues can sound & mantra therapy help you with?
Sound & mantra therapy induces a state of deep relaxation, so it is ideal as a complementary/alternative treatment for stress, depression, anxiety, anger, lack of confidence, as well as conditions such as fibromyalgia, ME, MS, ADHD, insomnia, poor blood circulation, headaches, cramps, and more. It can also be used effectively alongside conventional medicine.
Please note that I operate as a holistic, complementary and alternative therapist. As such, I do NOT claim to cure you or to diagnose any medical condition in the same regard as a GP.
What instruments do I work with?
I use handmade and ethically sourced Himalayan (sometimes called Tibetan) singing bowls, shamanic frame drums (made with vegan-friendly artificial drum heads), voice, shruti box, and various smaller percussion instruments, such as rattles, rainsticks, and Koshi wind chimes. The treatments can focus on one instrument (or voice), or any combination of these, depending on your needs.
